Shape
- The concave on the power face is guiding the water throughout the blade controlling the wobbling and increasing the water flow speed.
- The edge defining the concave starts round-shaped at the tip of the blade to separate the water smoothly. It then becomes sharper to dictate the water its path and stabilize the blade.
- All your power is transferred in a straight forward motion as you don’t need to worry about paddle alignment in the water anymore.
FLEX OPTIONS
SUP paddles can be flexible in different ways. At Starboard, they indicate this with marks from S30 (least flexible) to S50 (most flexible).
Large and strong short course competitors generally use less flexible paddles. Lighter competitors on longer courses need more flexible paddles, which are less burdensome on the shoulder.

The detachable 3 part paddles are precision cut. The inner and outer bars fit snugly. The pin makes it feel like the rod is in one piece.
GROOVED INNER SHAFT
If you have experience with paddles, then you know that they like to turn over time. With a special channel on the inside, it is ensured that nothing will move and the paddle will always face the right direction.
