🔹 What do SUP board measurements mean?

Labels such as 14×30×6, 11×34×6, etc., refer to the length, width and thickness of the board.

• Longer boards = faster and track straighter

• Wider boards = more stable (family boards are usually 32–34")

• 6" (15 cm) thickness = the current standard for most adult paddlers

Boards that are 12 cm thick can work for lighter paddlers if built well. Boards with 10 cm (4") thickness are generally unsuitable for adults due to low stiffness and limited buoyancy.

Choosing a SUP depends on your weight, experience, balance and intended use. With an unsuitable board, paddling can feel difficult or unstable — but with the right one, every paddle stroke becomes easier and progress is quick and enjoyable.
